Combo system deep dive after two weeks of focused testing.
The maximum combo I have hit is 47 across a 5-minute session. The decay rate when you miss a note is too steep at higher combo counts. Going from a 40-combo to zero on a single miss feels punishing in a way that removes the incentive to build long streaks. A graduated decay (lose 10 combo per miss rather than reset to zero) would make the scoring feel more skill-reflective.
Tried to unlock Crystal Resonance Plains today. The unlock requirements are listed but the progress bar does not update.
I have met the stated requirement (10 sessions in The Whispering Grove) but the lock icon is still showing. Refreshing the page does not help. The world remains locked in the UI even though the database likely has the condition satisfied. This feels like a frontend state sync issue rather than a backend logic problem.

The timer mechanic needs work. There is a noticeable lag between when you input an answer and when the score registers, which makes sub-3-minute runs feel inconsistent even when the musical choices are correct. The latency is probably 200 to 300 milliseconds, which adds up across a full run.
Week 3 of daily competitive sessions and the pattern is becoming clear.
Consistency matters more than peak score in this system. My global ranking has moved up steadily without any single exceptional run, purely from maintaining a daily session habit. The weekly_score column seems to weight recency heavily, which is the right call for engagement but punishes anyone who takes a break.
